At the Coffee Morning on Saturday 18th October, a cheque was handed over to the Cancer charity Force following a marathon bowling effort back in the summer.

The presentation of the cheque for £160 was made by Rob French to Lyn Orpin representing the charity. The money raised followed an idea of committee member Rob French to carry out a bowls marathon from dawn to dusk in June with the green in constant use during that period. This effort was supported in large numbers by club members, friends and family, a local councillor and members of other bowling clubs who all paid to play for an hour or more and with late assistance from our working members, the plan to bowl continuously was fulfilled.

The club is delighted to have made the donation to a local charity which carries out such wonderful work in supporting those individuals, and their families, who have been diagnosed with cancer.
