Like hundreds of clubs up and down the country, we joined in the Bowls Big Weekend, designed to attract more members to the club and to the sport. How successful the event was in attracting new memebers may not be known for a few weeks but it was great to see people trying out the sport for the first time on a beautifully sunny day in the lovely setting of Heavitree Park.
